Dad Social: New Spider-Man No Way Home Poster!

In anticipation for the new Spider-Man No Way Home movie, we cast an eagle eye over the latest official movie poster release! WARNING: This article contains both confirmed & potential SPOILERS!

The Official Spider-Man No Way Home poster dropped this week and with a keen eye, it further confirmed the villains our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man will face in this third instalment of the Marvel ‘Spidey’ movies; directed by Jon Watts.

The film sees Tom Holland resume his role as Peter Parker and if you’ve seen the trailers, you will already know the film also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange with Peters girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) & best pal Ned (Jacob Batalon) alongside Marisa Tomei (Aunt May) all returning once again.

Fans had it already confirmed in the previous trailer, that this time around Spider-Man faces off against Dr Otto Octavis with Alfred Molina reprising the role he played in Sam Reimi’s Spider-Man 2, which starred Tobey Maguire as the beloved web slinger between 2002-2007.

It had also been confirmed that Jamie Foxx would also return in his role as ‘Electro’, for which he played in Marc Webb’s 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which saw Andrew Garfield don the web shooters throughout The Amazing Spider-Man films.

However, take an enhanced ‘zoom in’ look at the latest poster and it reveals there are two more villains on the roster, confirming all the recent speculation that further Sinister Six characters were going to feature in this epic multiverse (or will it be ‘spider-verse’ ?) story.

If you zoom in to the official poster and look to the top right of the image, you can notice the ‘Green Goblin’ in full attire riding on his glider.

Take a longer look at the image and you will also notice sandstorm dust swirling behind our hero.

It has since been confirmed that Williem Dafoe; who starred in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 & 2, will return as the ‘Green Goblin’.

It has also been confirmed that the character ‘Sandman’ who featured in Raimi’s Spiderman 3 and who was played by Thomas Haden Church, also reprises the same role for this movie.

It all further heightens fans spider senses in anticipation to ‘what else’ this movie will have to offer and if anymore Sinister Six villains will show-up in this film? For the record, ‘The Lizard’ has also been rumoured to feature!

The BIG one however (and dig out the memes!) is will the film star all three actors who have played our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man?

To attempt to introduce the Spider-verse into the MCU via a live movie epic with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their versions of Spider-Man alongside current MCU ‘Spidey’ Tom Holland, would be incredible.

Many pictures have been doing the rounds lately online, supposedly showing the aforementioned ‘Spidermen’ on set!

I also came across this image online; which is unofficial and a blatant fan edit, yet looks awesome with Maguire, Garfield and Hollands’ portrayals of Spider-Man all on one still!

With the film due for release on 17th December 2021, you imagine there will be plenty of speculation on if fans will get their wish between now and then. Kevin Feige and Marvel are obviously keeping tight lipped.

I’m certainly intrigued with how this film is produced and how Jon Watts will entwine and combine all these characters both through the movie itself and within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole?

The good news is: we haven’t got long to wait before the film swings into theatres!

Another trailer has been mooted to drop very soon too!

To further bulk this claim, Sony are also rumoured to release an announcement regarding the next online trailer prior an exclusive Marvel fan event this Tuesday 16th November 2021!

Anyone else’s Spider-Senses tingling?
