Dad Life: Going On Adventures And Creating Memories

I love going on adventures with my son. The memories we are creating will stay with us for a long time.
Here are some things you can do with your kids in order to create some lasting memories:

A couple of weeks, we took our son to a dinosaur park and then to some beautiful waterfalls.

My friend and his family came along too.

We had to take the kids out of school to go (shhh, don’t tell them) because it was a bank holiday weekend and we didn’t want to go when it was too crowded – which worked out perfectly.

The memories that were created that day will stay with us all, it really was a wonderful day.

The kids enjoyed the dinosaur park and the adults enjoyed the waterfalls.

Everyone left happy.

So what memories are you creating with your own kids?

What adventures are you going on?

Here are some ideas for things to do:

  1. Find a dinosaur park
  2. Visit some waterfalls
  3. Go hiking
  4. Take a big bike ride
  5. Visit a museum
  6. Go to a funfair
  7. Find an adventure playground

And your ideas don’t need to cost money.

During the worldwide lockdowns last year many parents were forced to think outside the box in order to keep their children entertained, but many overlooked the memories they were creating with their kids.

Yes, times were harder and there was a lot of uncertainty but the extra opportunity to bond with your kids was an unexpected bonus. Many Dads were spending more time with their kids than they had previously and were doing an excellent job at mixing memories, education and fun.

This is just a small list of things I did with my son during the first lockdown.

What did you guys do?

Whether free or paid, the memories you’re creating with your kids is in invaluable.

Now, let us take a moment to imagine what damage you are doing to the memories your children have of you if you’re always drunk, stoned or absent.

You’re destroying important memory making moments.

Don’t fall into this trap, you’ll deeply regret it.
